Which Nanlite light should you buy?
For a first key light, the Nanlite FS-300B gives 300W of bi-colour light with a Bowens mount at a low price per watt. If you work on location and need battery power, look at the Forza 300B. For full colour, the FC-500C and FC-720C add RGB. Larger productions use the FC-1200C or, for the highest output, the Nanlux Evoke range from the same maker.
Frequently asked questions
What does B and C mean in Nanlite model names?
B is bi-colour: white light adjustable from warm to cool. C is full colour: bi-colour white plus RGB, for coloured light and effects.
Are Nanlite and Nanlux the same company?
Nanlux is the high-output professional brand from the same maker as Nanlite. Its Evoke lights are built for large film and TV sets.
Do Nanlite lights take Bowens-mount softboxes?
Most Nanlite monolights and spotlights listed here have a Bowens mount, so they take Bowens softboxes, lanterns and reflectors. Check the mount on each product page.
