Which Godox flash?
- Pocket flashes (AD100Pro II, AD200Pro II) - small battery flashes for location portraits, events and travel.
- Outdoor flashes (AD300Pro II, AD400Pro II, AD600Pro II, AD800Pro) - all-in-one battery flashes with the power for larger modifiers and bright daylight.
- Speedlights (V100, V1mid) - flashes that sit in the camera's hot shoe, or work off camera with a trigger.
The number in an AD flash's name is its power in watt-seconds: the AD200Pro II is 200Ws and the AD600Pro II 600Ws. More power lets you light from further away, through bigger softboxes, or against the sun.
Choosing a trigger
A trigger on the camera fires and controls off-camera flashes by radio, on Godox's 2.4 GHz X system. Godox AD flashes have the X receiver built in.
- X1T - the simple, lowest-cost trigger.
- X2T - a larger screen, five flash groups, a hot shoe on top for an on-camera flash, and phone app control.
- XPro and XPro II - a large backlit screen and 16 groups, for studio and multi-flash setups.
- X3 and X3 Pro - compact touchscreen triggers with a built-in battery that charges over USB-C.
Match the version to your camera
Godox makes its triggers, and TTL speedlights such as the V1mid, in a separate version for each camera system: C for Canon, N for Nikon, S for Sony, F for Fujifilm, and others. TTL and high-speed sync work only with the system a version is made for. Check the version on the product page, or ask us with your camera model before you order. To soften a flash, see the Godox octa umbrellas among our softboxes.
Frequently asked questions
Will a Godox trigger work with my camera?
Each Godox trigger is made in versions for different camera systems - Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm and others - and gives full TTL and high-speed sync only with its own system. Check the version on the product page or ask us before ordering.
Can one trigger fire several flashes?
Yes. A Godox X-series trigger controls several flashes at once, set in groups, so you can change each group's power from the camera. The X2T has five groups; the XPro and XPro II have 16.
What does the number in Godox AD flash names mean?
It is the flash's power in watt-seconds: the AD100Pro II is 100Ws and the AD800Pro 800Ws.
Can I use a flash for video?
No. A flash fires for a fraction of a second, for photographs. Video needs continuous light that stays on - see our continuous lights.
